Prices and ordering of Thunder Shakers

Thunder shakers, sometimes known as thunder makers, produce an amazingly realistic thunder like sound. They consists of a strong, decorated, thick cardboard tube either 20 or 27cm long (8 or 11 inches). One end is open to release the thunder sound and the other end has a drum like membrane. Attached to the centre of the membrane. is a long spiral wire spring.

How to Play Thunder Shakers

To play the thunder shaker the tube is held with the wire hanging down. In the photos the spring is coiled around the tube to make the picture more compact. When the tube is shaken up and down the membrane and spring start vibrating to produce the thundery sound.

Thunder shakers can also be used to amplify and distort sounds. When you talk or make noises into the open end of a thunder shaker, the membrane. vibrates sympathetically making the voice louder while changing the quality of sound.

We stock thunder shakers in two sizes. Both produce a good sound. The larger thundershaker produces a deeper more resonant sound.
