What is the best way to play my bowl?

Using a suede stick the best way is to play around the outside edge of the top rim of the bowl. (We do not recommend tapping it to start). Lean the stick at an angle and press firmly but lightly. Rotate the stick at an even and slow pace. You do not need to speed up once the sound starts. If the stick starts to judder take the stick off as you are going too fast. With a ball stick the best way to play it is on the top 2 inches of bowl. Lightly rub the ball end around the bowl. It does not make as much noise as the suede stick and starts the bigger bowls quickly and easily.

I've heard that some bowls shatter. Why is this?

Bowls are tough and most can be played and transported without any problems but on rare occasions they can shatter during playing for no apparent reason. However there are known risks and the following are precautions that you can take to minimise this.

  • Never play the bowl so hard and fast that the rim begins to blur when you look at it. This is putting a great deal of strain on the bowl.
  • Never bang the bowl hard on the side with the stick. Tap lightly instead if you need to.
  • Although you can play the bowl from the inside we do not recommend it. It can put a strain on the bowl.
  • Be careful when you carry it around. Put your arms around it to protect it. You can only drop it once! Insure your bowl on your home insurance. If you buy a bowl from us we can not take responsibility for bowls shattering.
  • Never place a bowl on someone and play it.
  • Never put your head in a bowl when it is ringing.

Do I need a set of bowls. I've heard that there is one for each chakra?

The bowls all have different notes and some people have ascribed a note to each chakra. In our experience if a bowl is played in a room full of people then they will all experience it in their own individual way. Some will feel it in the heart chakra, others in the throat and so on. All bowls appear to go first to where they are needed and will then work on all of the energy system. Once one chakra is cleared it helps the rest of the energy system to flow more easily.

This is based on our personal experience with the bowls and we do not think that there is a black and white answer to this question. It is however lovely hearing several bowls playing that harmonise with each other.

What is the difference between the sound of a metal bowl and a quartz bowl?

A metal bowl is played with a wooden stick pressed against the side. Unless you have an exceptional bowl it will not continue to resonate as long as a quartz bowl. The metal bowl plays several notes at one time, the quartz bowl plays only one. The metal bowl has a subtle sound that is appreciated more when the bowl is held to the ear whereas the quartz bowl is loud and can be heard quite well from a distance.

Where are 'Tibetan' Bowls made?

Most bowls including ours are now made in Nepal. Many Tibetans live and work there. We do not import bowls from any other country.

Do metal bowls break?

Yes. If they are dropped onto a hard floor they can crack.

How do metal bowls differ from quartz when used for sound healings?

They differ in many ways. Primarily with quartz you are getting quartz energy. With metal bowls you are getting the energy of the seven metals they are made of. Both bowls release stress and clear energy fields.

The metal bowl is often held close to the body and played and the quartz bowl is stood on the floor and played. The quartz bowl is harder to hold by hand as it is often heavier than the metal bowl.

Tachyons

How do I choose the right Tachyon for me?

Go for the first colour and shape that you are attracted to, in most cases this is the right one. The shape will depend on its use and if you want to wear it, place it in a pocket or in the room. You could also try dowsing.

If you can come to us or go to a shop that sells the Tachyons then hold them one at a time in your hand to see how they feel. If you are not sure which of the colours to choose remember that white, opal and clear contain all the colours.

I work on computers a lot. Which Tachyon should I use?

The large Tree of Life is recommended for personal use when working on computers. For the computer itself a small FREEquency is recommended on the side of the computer and an Elektrixx on the main socket to the computer.

Can I use Tachyons with other therapies?

Tachyons enhance other therapies. For example cones, donuts and small pyramids can be used for chakra work and cones can also be used to hold oils or essences and then directed at the body. A lot of therapists use large pyramids under couches and in the corners of the room.
