In
September 2005 Battersea Dogs and Cats Home held a fund raising
Dog Parade where £40,000 was taken at an auction in aid
of the home. Celebrities including Vivienne Westwood, Orlando
Bloom, Sir Elton John, James Galway and the staff at Battersea
had been asked to design the decoration of models of a dog sculpted
by Derek Howarth. Some Dog Parade dogs are now available in smaller
versions around 20cm (7.5 inches) long and £1 from each
one sold goes to the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
